Alongside the financial sector, telecommunications is certainly one of industrial branches being confronted with high expectations and standards regarding information security. Providing for a high level of services availability, protecting critical IT infrastructure and applications from unauthorized activities, and protecting sensitive business information of critical importance are the main challenges for reaching a competitive advantage in the market (sales, development of new products and services etc.). Furthermore, there are even stricter regulatory requirements of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union (e.g. the segment of personal data protection) that need to be fulfilled. Finally, similarly to the financial sector, detecting and preventing frauds is also one of the problems that telecoms meet with every day.
